  1. There is so much to say about Psalms 103 & 104 - God cleansing his people of iniquity, him having compassion on those he loves, he will not deal with us as our sins deserve...
But one thing I noticed about 104 is what brings forth praise in the Psalmist - God's creation. He speaks about the mountains, the sea, the birds, and the animals. This actually isn't unique to this psalm - many times the observance of the creation brings forth praise. What I like about this is how the Psalmist calls our attention to the details in which God cares for his creation: "The trees of the LORD are watered abundantly...In them the birds build their nests...The high mountains are for the wild goats; the rocks are a refuge for the rock badgers." Rock Badgers! The Psalmist sees all of what God has done, all of the ways in which he cares for the work of his hands, and what does he do? He praises God - "O LORD, how manifold are your works!...May the glory of the LORD endure forever; may the LORD rejoice in his works...I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being."
It is easy for me to be start struck at the creations of men - a good meal, a nice car, wonderful literature - and that is not wrong to appreciate and enjoy these. Yet, the works of the Lord's hands, I need to be more aware of and recognize that they are all around me and bring forth praise.
