  1. As I began to read Numbers 11 this morning, I was struck by the thanklessness of God's people. God has delivered them from slavery, he has led them into the wilderness, he has provided for them, and their response? Grumbling. Complaining. It is almost like the sound of a spoiled child, "Manna again!?! I want something different. I want meat." Can you hear the whining? How quickly they have forgotten what has been given to them. The grace that has been extended, the love of God to provide. It's easy to see this selfish, thanklessness in them isn't it?
What I'm convicted of is how quickly I forget God's grace. I quickly I take for granted what he has given to me. Can you hear it our language? "I'm bored with this car. I'm tired of my clothes. I wish we had more to eat. We're singing that song again!" Yes, Israel was slow in their thankfulness, and so too am I. "Father - help me and help us to be a people who do not take for granted all that you have done and are doing. For the grace that you have given us, help us to be thankful."
